Dry July

Now before I get started, I just want to say I’m all for enjoying a drink or two. A social life is a huge part of healthy living and I’m all for it.

What I’m not for however, is alcohol consumption contributing to your health issues and preventing you from getting to where you want to be.

As a naturopath I see alcohol affect patients sleep, hormones, digestion, moods, stress levels, inability to loss weight, plus increase risk factors for chronic disease.

This year I have decided to take part in Dry July to help motivate others to take a look at their relationship with alcohol and make some changes if need be.

I’m not a big drinker myself, so to make this more challenging I’m going to use the 31 days over Dry July to challenge myself to make healthy habits which will also include a detox. It’s the perfect time to priorities my health so I can feel as good as I can be going into the second half of the year.

If you would like to join me I’ve created a Dry July Team which you can sign up for below. I’ll also be sending motivation emails, mocktail recipes as well as health tips to help support your body to detox.

I’ve decided to do 31 days but you can do 14 or 21 days. If you aren’t a drinker find something to give up or take something up that will help to improve your health. Some ideas could be:

  • Drinking more water

  • Exercising

  • Go sugar free

  • Eat more veggies

  • Go to bed early

  • limit or avoid coffee

  • Social media detox

There are so many ways you can make this work for you. If you would like join in the fun sign up below and I’ll email you all the details.
